McLaren LookBook Shoot
In January I worked on the lighting for McLaren’s Team Collection 2011 shoot. I worked with photographer Claire Pepper.
This is a wide shot from one of two set ups we had. I was given two briefs to work from and a bunch of lighting references for each set. The idea was to take the style of sportswear photography then tone it down and give it a bit more of a fashion look book style.
So for the lighting we kept it even and soft and blended soft highlights. We didn’t want the grey background to be flat, so we had a slight gradient from darker grey to lighter grey at the bottom. I used a large Octa for the key light, a beauty dish to push more light in the face and two umbrellas either side to push in two soft highlights.

Also on the shoot were Jonathan Gales and Tim Bowditch who made a BEHIND THE SCENES video of the shoot.
